Welcome to my blog on Informatics in Health and Social Care. This blog has been produced for assignment 1 of the Health Informatics in Health and Social Care module. I will use the blog to post information, links, pictures and interesting articles relating to data collection and processing, security and General Data Protection Regulations (2016).
The blog has been set up as a means to discuss some of the issues surrounding data information and processing in the health service.
The blog will consider the following 4 areas;
- Collections,
- Legal responsibilities,
- Types of information,
- What data do we collect.
The blog will also examine the types of data used and the reasons for using data in healthcare. It will hopefully demonstrate that data can be used responsibilities to improve healthcare whilst also highlighting the dangers of improper use.
The contributions to this blog will form part of the contributions toward the three competencies required for assignment one. The competencies are:
- Use of information in Health and Social Care,
- Use of communication in Health and Social Care,
- Use of Information Technology (IT) to increase one's individual effectiveness as a Health and Social Care professional.
